With the hustle and bustle of everyday life, it’s easily to only invest energy and thoughts in the things that we are dissatisfied with in life. This only leads to worry, stress, depression and poor quality of life. This is why it’s important to take a few minutes to reflect on what we are grateful for in life. Doing this will make the other things feel trivial or at least, less impactful.
By taking the time to silently or openly express gratitude, you will mindfully appreciate who and what brings joy and happiness into your life. You can be thankful for a supportive family, a good job, a loving pet, anything that makes your life enjoyable. Acknowledging and expressing gratitude is a stress-reducer, mood improver and anxiety-buster!
Exercise: Find a time each day to silently express gratitude for at least three things, people etc. Acknowledge the good that they bring into your life. Be thankful for their positive influence. Express your love and appreciation.
Example: Thank you dad for always loving me and supporting my life goals. I appreciate and love you. Thank you for your positive influence in my life.
